It reaches north and west of Hudson’s Bay above the tree line to the North Pole. The landscapes range from flat muskeg to towering mountain peaks and fiords of North Baffin.

There are many territorial parks through out Nunavut. But much is a barren land that is great for hunters to have very long shots for the game their hunting. The hunting of some species is highly regulated.

Summer can be as hot as in the southern part of Canada. Mosquitoes and black flies can be bothersome. Summer is normally very short and runs into fall very quickly, coming as early as late August to the beginning of October. During October and November the weather can have freezing rain to wet snowstorms. These snowstorms can turn quickly into blizzards and have very real Arctic cold. Clear to early spring the temperatures can be down to 10 below, but usually 8 degrees to 20 degrees.
