Lying between Michigan on the north and Kentucky on the south, and between Ohio on the east and Illinois on the west. Lake Michigan indents the western end of the northern boundary. Most of central Indiana lay in the path of the glaciers that invaded the area in the Pleistocene Period. These glaciers left the deposits of deep, clayey subsoil and fertile topsoil.

Southern Indiana is full of hills and lowlands, and has a very broken surface, with wooded hills called knobs rising to heights of several hundred feet n the east near the Ohio River. Underground streams have cut picturesque caves in the extensive limestone formations. The state has a wide verity of different places to hunt, which most guides and outfitters will be very happy to show you.
