United States Weather

Michigan, which lies in the Saint Lawrence River basin. Consisting of two peninsulas, one of which is shaped like a human hand. As most northern states, the climate is cold in the winter and has moderate summers. With over 58,000 square miles, Michigan hunting guides and outfitters listed should be able to help you plan your next trip.

Michigan has a marked difference between the climate of the southern part of the Lower Peninsula and that of the Upper Peninsula. The latter is in the region of a cool-temperate climate. The summers are cool and the winters are severe, and this portion of the state is subject to heavy falls of snow. The presence of the lakes equalizes the temperature of the Lower Peninsula and also exerts a marked influence on the rainfall.

The southern half of the Lower Peninsula has a warm climate during summer and mild to cold in winter. That portion bordering on Lake Michigan and extending as far north as Grand Traverse Bay is influenced by the southwest winds which prevail the temperature of this region, so that for a distance of from five to fifty miles inland, damaging frosts in spring and fall seldom occur. The state offers much to a hunter and should be taken advantage of on your next trip.

Each guide and outfitter can give you additional information about specific small game and big game animals hunting in their area, along with what the weather is for their part of the state.
