United States Weather

New York is one of the thirteen original states. The climate is varied with a mean annual temperature of 47 degrees. The state has over 49,000 square miles of land, much of it is covered in wooded areas, which is more then enough for the average hunter. The New York hunting guides and outfitters listed should be able to help you plan your next trip.

New York has a great diversity of surface, but it is easily divided into several physical regions. The first is the Adirondack region, which occupies all of the northern and eastern portions. The second mountain region occupies a narrow belt in the southeastern border. The Catskill region, which is a somewhat broad plateau, upon which rise the Catskill Mountains, the lakeshore plain and Mohawk Valley is the great plateau region.

The climate in New York is varied, with a range wider than that of any of the other Atlantic states. Those portions, which are under the influence of ocean, sound and lake winds are more even in temperature. Other regions suffer severely from the early frosts of autumn and the late frosts of spring, from winter. In the Adirondack region the summer is delightful, but the winters are ling and severe. The mean annual temperature of the state is 47 degrees; the average annual precipitation is about forty-one inches. The state offers much to a hunter and should be taken advantage of on your next trip.

Each guide and outfitter can give you additional information about specific small game and big game animals hunting in their area, along with what the weather is for their part of the state.
