The Connecticut winters are not unduly cold, but there may be occasional severe snowstorms and temperatures, which range from freezing to subzero. The rainfall is ample; the average annual precipitation from rain and snow amounts to 46 inches.

Much of Connecticut consists of the Western Highlands, Central Lowlands, and the Eastern Highlands. Each area of the state should give a unique hunting experience to all.
