Except for the swamp region Florida possesses one of the most equable and healthful climates in the United States. It is free from extremes, the winter temperature seldom falling below 32 degrees and the summer temperature rarely exceeding 90 degrees. The average annual winter temperature is 71 degrees; the average summer temperature is 85 degrees. Rainfall is over sixty inches in some places on the Gulf coast with 250 clear days in the year.

Florida borders Georgia and Alabama with the Atlantic Ocean lying on three sides of the state. The northwestern part of the state is hilly and rolling, being an extension of the Alabama uplands. This region descends to a low flat coast. The eastern part of the state is low and nearly level, but the surface rises from each coast toward the interior. The highest point in the state, Iron Mountain, near the center, is 325 feet above the sear. The lands along the coast are low, level and often marshy. They have been formed by gradual elevation from the ocean and by the action of lime secreting organisms. The state offers much to a hunter and should be taken advantage of on your next trip.
