United States Weather

Oregon, the “Beaver State”. This on account of the many beavers found in this region of the country. The state offers much wildlife over its large woodland areas, and with almost 97,000 square miles there is plenty of room for hunters. The climate varies depending on how far from the ocean you are. But the many types of game offered is worth anything the weather can through at you. The Oregon hunting guides and outfitters listed should be able to help you plan your next trip.

Oregon is crossed from north to south by two ranges of mountains; the Coast Range, from ten to thirty miles from the coast; and the Cascades, nearly parallel with the Coast Range. In the northeast are the Blue Mountains. The state borders California and Nevada on the south; the Pacific Ocean on the west; and then Washington and Idaho.

Like other Pacific states, Oregon has an east and west, rather than a north and south, variation in climate. Owing to the warm winds of the Pacific, that portion of the state west of the Cascades has a mild and equable climate; in winter the average temperature is 42 degrees, and in summer, about 63 degrees. East of the Cascades, greater extremes are found. The state offers much to a hunter and should be taken advantage of on your next trip.

Each guide and outfitter can give you additional information about specific small game and big game animals hunting in their area, along with what the weather is for their part of the state.
